Student Information
The Isle of Man International Business School (The IBS) is a small institution with approximately 150 students on both part-time and full-time Degree Programmes and Professional Programmes. We have a small proportion of international students, although the majority of our students are from the Isle of Man. Nevertheless, there is no such thing as a typical student at The IBS. Not only do we have a mixture of local and international students but we also attract students at very different stages of their lives and careers.
A large proportion of our students are local school leavers. In fact, in 2005 we enrolled 23 new students from the Island’s secondary schools making the Isle of Man International Business School the number one choice for Manx School leavers.
We are also pleased to see an increasing number of mature (over 21) students registering with us as well. Part time, mature students on our undergraduate Degree Programmes are able to benefit from being able to juggle their studies around work and family life commitments; whilst our postgraduate Degree Programmes justifiably attract high achievers from the world of business, some local and some international.
All our students have chosen the Isle of Man International Business School due to its high academic standards, the excellent level of student support on offer, and the benefits of networking with other professionals of a similar level.
Due to our small size, we offer a personalised approach to study and our class sizes are much smaller than you would expect to find at a UK university (up to a maximum of 15 students per lecture/ seminar). This means that our students receive a great deal of personalised attention and support. Our academic staff are all experienced industry specialists and regularly go ‘the extra mile’ to assist students in attaining their academic goals.
