Higher Education Conference and School &
College Visits
The International Business School attended the
Ballakermeen Higher Education Conference along with over 50 UK
universities. The conference gives school students and individuals
considering Higher Education the opportunity to find out more
about all the options available to them. As the International
Business School is a new option for people on the Island we are
building links with schools and colleges. Visits to inform students
by making presentations and attending careers conventions etc.
have been made. We also plan to develop 'summer school' courses
using the Manx Telecom Learning Resources Centre, our student
IT facility.

Student Lodgings / Accommodation
Some of our students will be looking for accommodation
for their first academic year from September 2001 until about
June 2002. As the International Business School is non-residential,
students will need to find accommodation in the private sector.
This falls into two categories which are a) shared fiats/houses
and b) 'student lodgings' where students live with a family. We
already have local students who are looking for other sharers
so that they can approach letting agents as a group.
Our International students may also use this facility
although some will be looking for 'student lodging' accommodation
i.e. a safe family environment which will help them to settle
into life on the Island and also improve their English language
skills. Student lodging requirements include furnished bedroom
and use of facilities -with breakfast and/ar evening meal.
