Mindful Leadership Programme
– Launching May 2004
IBS Consulting, a division of the
International Business School, launches its flagship
development programme with the first in a series of
three masterclasses beginning on the 25th of May .
The Mindful Leadership Programme has already received
a high level of interest following two introductory
seminars presented by programme leader, Dr Leslie Gadman,
which focused on ways to achieve breakthroughs in
performance.
The Mindful Leadership Programme is
a brand new development programme for senior managers
and executives who are seeking new ways to engage
their creative potential and develop their capacity
to lead and manage more effectively. Sean explained
that the programme meets the needs of those who seek
to increase their capacity to continually develop
new skills and awareness as well as providing the
opportunity for self-motivation and self-empowerment,
‘The Mindful Leadership Programme is a living,
constantly evolving programme reflecting the latest
business trends, research and participant feedback.
It is a year long programme comprises three themes
delivered as Masterclasses by leading international
experts.’
In addition to Leslie Gadman, the faculty
team includes Cary Cooper, the Pro Vice Chancellor
of Lancaster University and author of over 100 books
on organisational and personnel topics. Also on the
team from the US are Jim Palmer, a practitioner and
scholar who consults in areas of strategic effectiveness,
with a particular expertise in the Balanced Scorecare
and Rob Richardson, who specialises in integrating
psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and psychospiritual
development.
Each theme is delivered and explored
during an intense three day Masterclass at the International
Business School where participants will consider key
elements critical to achieving breakthroughs in performance.
In between these events, members from the IBS Consulting
Team provide coaching as participants apply these
new concepts to real personal and organisational challenges.
As an integral part of the programme,
cross company teams and participants commit to one
or more ‘productivity breakthrough’ projects
within their organizations. These are designed to
more than offset the cost of the series to the business
and are presented at an end of programme conference.
Summing up the programme, Sean explained,
‘Our unique teaching method promotes mutual
learning and enhances each participant’s ability
to reflect in depth on the knowledge, skills and requirements
of a skilled business leader. Exchanging ideas with
participants from a wide range of business sectors
and learning new concepts, paradigms and practices
from our highly skilled team, participants will experience
learning as a continual and purposeful process of
discovering insights, producing action, observing
the consequences and adapting behaviour…in turn,
transforming them into Mindful Leaders.
