Higher Education Students

The International Business
School is now the top destination for the
Island students replacing
Chester College which was the top destination
in 2002. At the start of its third academic
year, the Business School now has over one
hundred students taking Degree and Diploma
programmes in Business, Management and Finance.
Registrar Martin Gershman,
believes that the Business School's continuing rapid growth is
partly due to the flexibility of programme
entry. "Because we are now able to accept
student intakes twice a year, in September
and January, people can join programmes without
having to wait for a whole year to make a start
on their career development. The two starting
points are available for all degree programmes
as well as the Chartered Management Institute
qualifications."

IBS Director, Professor
Roger Carey, said that he was delighted to
welcome new and returning
students and added, "It is immensely pleasing
to be able to provide Higher Education opportunities
not only for the people of the Isle of Man
but also for international students who wish
to study in the specialist environment that
we offer. This year we are welcoming students
from the Island and the United Kingdom as well
as other countries such as Nepal, China, the
Ukraine and South Africa. Our capability to
provide high quality student support and training
is growing reputation - as is our reputation
as an academic institution of quality and expertise."
Education Minister, Steve
Rodan MHK visited the International Business
School to meet staff
and students during induction week. He is
