Top Marks for IBS Students
Students are
continuing to achieve excellent results at the
end of the International
Business School’s second academic year.
Year one students of the full-time BA (Hons) Business
Studies degree programme have achieved an average
of 62% across the ten subject modules studied over
the year - and second year students have achieved
61%. This puts most IBS students well on track
to achieving a prestigious upper second or first
class degree result.
Four of the Business Studies students have achieved
joint top marks for individual modules with students
taking the same programme at Liverpool John Moores
University. This is excellent when you consider
that there are between 200 and 350 students taking
individual modules.
Three first year students have also achieved an
outstanding 95% in their Skills for Business module.
Some of these people are part-time students with
full-time jobs which is an even more commendable
achievement.
IBS Director, Professor Roger
Carey, is delighted with the excellent results
that students have achieved.
He gave his warmest congratulations to the students
and commented that, “These results reflect
the very hard work that stem from the student’s
commitment and dedication to their course. Our
staff and students are working extremely hard to
build and maintain the reputation of a Higher Education
institution of which the Isle of Man can be proud
of. These results at the end of our second academic
year prove that we are on the right track.”
IBS students on Masters programmes
are also continuing to perform to a high standard.
Second year students
taking part-time MScs in Financial Regulation & Compliance
and International Banking & Finance are now
in the final stretch towards completing their Masters
degrees, writing up their dissertations, and one
group will graduate this Autumn.
The part-time MBA programme
that began in the New Year is also off to a good
start – all
students completed modules comfortably and are
looking forward to new challenges in September.
