Nunnery Development Proposal Rejected
by International
Business School
A proposal for the development of apartments and a
restaurant in the grounds of the Nunnery Estate was
turned down by the directors of the International Business
School more than a month ago, the International Business
School said today (Tuesday, March 11, 2003).
The International Business School
was responding to an article in the current Isle
of Man Examiner Business
News, headlined 'Now Lacey wants to build on IBS land',
referring to the proposal from Mr Graham Ferguson Lacey.
Professor Roger
Carey, Director of the International Business School
said: 'In the
latter part of 2002 the International Business School
did receive a proposal
from Mr Lacey, which was considered by the board of
directors at their meeting on February 5, 2003.
'The proposal
was rejected on the grounds that it was incompatible
with the Long
Term Plan for the Nunnery
Estate that was developed by the International Business
School and received by Tynwald in November last year.'
