from an Isle of Man Perspective

As a Higher Education institution, the International Business School's aims to provide a forum for the discussion and debate of topical subjects through 'Open Seminars'. Dr Douglas Fox, Senior Research Professor from the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere, Colorado State University, will present a seminar on the topic of Environmental Awareness at the International Business School on Wednesday 17 July at 4.30pm.

An international leader in his field, Dr Fox has spent nearly 40 years working in environmental management including 25 years working for the United States government at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Departments of Agriculture and Commerce. He helped design the US-Asia Environmental Partnership Program in Climate Change and has authored over 150 publications on his research in air pollution, environmental management and its impacts on natural systems.

Dr Fox, who lives on the Island in Peel, will cover the evidence that suggests there are significant human influences on the global environment, and the worldwide responses to managing the environment, which requires collaboration between government, business and public interest groups. Some of the experiences with this communal approach will be presented along with implications and lessons that might be important for the Isle of Man.
