IBS Students Achieve Excellent Set of First Results
Quality results, achieved by quality students, delivered by
quality staff in a quality institution..
Students taking the BA (Hons) Business Studies Degree
at the International Business School have received their first set
of results. Overall results at the end of their first semester are
6% above fellow students following the same syllabus at Liverpool
John Moores University, the institution's academic partner for the
degree.
IBS Director, Professor Roger Carey, gave his warmest
congratulations to the students and recognised that the excellent
set of results stemmed from the students commitment and dedication
to the course, and the very hard work that they had put in during
their first semester. He told the students, "The International Business
School aims to be 'the best' - you have made a very positive contribution
towards that goal and established a very high standard, setting
a splendid example for others to follow."
Professor Carey also commented that, "These results
reflect the reality of what is being achieved at the International
Business School. Our staff and students are working extremely hard
to build and maintain the reputation and 'track record' of a Higher
Education institution of which the Isle of Man can be proud.
IBS degree programmes follow the rigorous quality
standards of our academic partners and to have achieved such high
results on the first run through of the programme is very pleasing.
These are quality results, achieved by quality students, delivered
by quality staff in a quality institution."
NOTE FOR EDITORS
Students, who are now half way through their first year of study,
completed five modules of the degree in their first semester at
the IBS. Performance is assessed through the completion of assignments
and examinations. Following approval and moderation of results by
LJMU, IBS students received their results this week as they returned
for the start of the second semester.
