FIRST SERIES OF SHORT COURSES ANNOUNCED BY IBS

The Isle of Man International Business School is pleased to announce that it has finalised details for its first series of open short courses that will run in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Professor Roger Carey, Director of the International Business School, explained that the courses have been selected specifically for the benefit of organisations and individuals in the business community on the Island. "We have received many enquiries from companies who felt that the provision for Marketing & Sales training on the Island was non-existent. I am delighted that we are now in a position to help meet their needs by bringing the CIM to the International Business School.

It can be extremely difficult, in both time and financial terms, for organisations to send staff to the UK for training courses. By providing this series of professional short courses at the International Business School we are making training in this field more accessible for all."

Working with the Chartered Institute of Marketing meets the International Business School's aims to provide high quality training. The CIM is the world's largest professional body for marketing. They deliver cutting-edge courses that provide practical expertise and are geared solely to maximise business performance. CIM course directors are all experienced practitioners who will return delegates to the workplace with fresh ideas and increased commitment.

This is the first time that the CIM short courses have been available on the Island. Previously, CIM short courses have been run in large metropolitan cities or at the CIM's training centre in Berkshire.

The International Business School's CIM series consists of nine courses at introductory and intermediate level. The sales and marketing courses are in three main areas: Introductions, Selling Services and Internet & E-Commerce. Professor Roger Carey explained the choice of courses, "We wanted to provide a range of training experiences to suit the local business community. All of these courses should appeal to organisations that want to ensure that the skills and techniques of their management, sales and marketing staff are kept up to date and that they are getting the best training from the leaders in the field."

Information packs for the CIM courses will be sent out to the business community this week and there will be a CIM Open Day at the International Business School on Monday 5th February. During the day, the Chartered Institute of Marketing will be on hand to answer your queries from 3pm to 7pm. Anyone wishing to receive an information pack or attend the Open Day can contact Joanne Griffin on 693705 or email enquiries@ibs.ac.im
