Programme Content The Institute of Directors Company Direction Programme consists of two parts.
The first part is the ‘Certificate in Company Direction’, which consists of seven intensive short courses, each concentrating on particular aspects of the Director's and Board's role:
- The Role of the Company Director
- The Director & the Law
- Finance for Non-Financial Directors
- Effective Marketing Strategies
- People Mean Business
- Strategic Business Direction
- Leading Strategic Change
The second part is the ‘Diploma in Company Direction’, which comprises a three-day course, ‘Developing Board Performance’ to put into practice the knowledge gained from the Certificate.
Programme Benefits
Here are a few of the reasons given by past delegates for the IoD Company Direction Programme being so different from other management courses:
- It is designed specifically and exclusively for company directors and is continuously updated to meet their changing needs.
- It focuses on important boardroom issues throughout, covering legal, strategic, financial and many other aspects of board level activity.
- It is run by experienced professionals all used to operating at board level and with a wealth of knowledge in their field.
- It draws together directors with a wide range of experience to discover the real issues of company direction whilst taking a step back from the day to day running of their own company.
- It offers the flexibility most directors need, with short stand-alone course modules making up the total programme.
- It can lead to valuable qualifications, with an examination pass securing both the well-respected IoD Diploma, and eligibility to attain Chartered Director status.
