Learning Resources + Facilities
Cooid-ynsee as Seyraaidyn
The Isle of Man International Business School (The IBS) has a variety of resources and facilities to support learning and research. These are available to all students and staff of The IBS and may be available for hire or subscription to external parties.
Electronic Learning Resources
Throughout higher education much research is now conducted via the Internet and by consulting electronic papers and journals. The Isle of Man International Business School therefore has three recently installed I.T. suites, which include PCs, scanners, printers, a photocopier and broadband internet access throughout – all available for students and staff of The IBS to use. Students can freely access a wide range of databases and information sources, online data services and the web as well as all the online learning resources of Liverpool John Moores University (our academic partner).
Library
In addition to the vast array of learning materials available online, The IBS has a hard copy library, renovated in June 2006, which contains copies of all the core text books required for the programmes taught at the school. Text books may also be provided to individual students on some programmes. Students of The IBS are also entitled to use the library facilities at the Isle of Man College.
Teaching Rooms
All teaching/ lecture rooms are equipped as standard with a PC (including broadband internet access), a digital projector, an overhead projector, a projector screen and a television with VCR/DVD players. Videoconferencing equipment and interactive white boards are also available. We also offer opportunities for Room Hire, which can include all the above I.T. equipment.
Student Support
The IBS employs a full time Learning Resource Manager who is available to offer assistance with any library or I.T.-related queries and problems from 9am to 5pm on weekdays.
Access for Non-Students
The learning resources and facilities of the Isle of Man International Business School may be made available to non-IBS students, teachers and researchers, or IBS alumni, either free of charge or for an appropriate fee.
